On November 1st, 2002, CFR(->)-senior fellow Youssef M. Ibrahim
revealed, what the rest of the Council always tried to downplay: "The
upcoming war against Iraq has nothing to do with the war against
terror", it's "a misguided temptation to get more oil out of the
Middle East by turning a friendly" Iraq into a private American oil
pumping station." Furthermore Ibrahim described afghanistan's leader
Harmid Karzai as "puppet president", "now guarded by U.S. special
