General Dynamics has leading market positions in business aviation and aircraft services, land and amphibious combat systems, mission-critical information systems and technologies, and shipbuilding and marine systems. Their four top business segments are: Aerospace, Combat Systems, Information Systems and Technology, and Marine Systems. General Dynamics' board of directors include former US Navy-, Army- and Marine Officers and Paul G. Kaminski (former U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology). Among General Dynamics products are the Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, the Gulfstream V® business jets, satellite ground stations, C-4 Systems (gdc4s.com), Advanced Information Systems and Bath Iron Works. General Dynamics agreed in 2002 to to acquire GeneralMotorsDefense for $1.1 billion in cash, which is a business unit of General Motors Corporation of Detroit, Michigan.
